The Searchers is a 1956 American Technicolor VistaVision Western film coordinated by John Ford, in view of the 1954 novel by Alan Le May, set amid the Texas–Indian Wars, and featuring John Wayne as a moderately aged Civil War veteran who invests years searching for his kidnapped niece (Natalie Wood), It is 1868.
